I enjoyed making Lizzie's Regency costume so much that I decided to make another Austen doll today. I'm really fondest of Anne Eliot, but I realized that if I made Emma instead I could dress her up a little more.
I want every doll I make from now on to have a hat, or a bonnet. It's so much fun figuring out how to make them, I can't tell you.

Bareheaded

Her hair is absolutely unique in the history of my dolls and I kinda love it.

A pink folded felt rose.

Back of the bonnet.
It's difficult, for a person like me who hasn't really made a formal study of the costumes of the period, to come up with a bonnet that suggests gentlewoman instead of dairy maid, but I think I managed it by rounding the edges.

Aaaaand finally, Emma with Lizzie.
So, what next? Elinor and Marianne?
